What is mindfulness?  What is Right View of the Mind?  How will both enhance the quality of our daily life?  Chan (Zen) Teacher Gilbert Gutierrez will walk us through the four foundations of mindfulness and how to apply them to the practice of Silent Illumination, via the Right View.  He will lead us on a journey into the workings of the mind to reveal its natural processes.  Once revealed, a practitioner is better prepared to utilize and sustain the meditation methods.  Participants will also receive practical examples of how to apply this insight into their everyday life in order to generate a harmonizing and peaceful environment around them.

About our Dharma/Chan Teacher: These special talk, retreat, practice and Q&A sessions are wonderful gifts by a humble practitioner imbued with the true spirit of teaching and helping.  Gilbert is one of the five rare lay Dharma heirs of Venerable Master Sheng-Yen and the only western lineage holder currently residing in United States.  He is the founder and teacher for the Riverside Chan Meditation Group (www.riversidechan.org).  Gilbert’s deep understanding of Chan and meditation is steeped in his own experience of practice for four decades.  His teaching is lucid and direct – every word rings true and makes this event a not-to-be-missed learning experience for everyone seeking a path to inner wisdom and fulfillment.
